OCEAN HOUSE MAGAZINE CELEBRATES THE BEST OF WATCH HILL, RHODE ISLAND
Iconic Resort Debuts Premier Issue of Self-Titled Magazine to Spotlight Seaside New England Town
WATCH HILL, R.I., December 6, 2010 – As part of an ongoing effort to bring year-round travelers to the destination, the Ocean House – one of New England’s last grand hotels – has debuted a self-titled magazine celebrating the best of Watch Hill, R.I., and its neighboring towns. The historic resort re-opened in June 2010 following a $140 million rebuild and restoration. With the launch of Ocean House, the resort calls upon on its deep roots within the community, as well as a network of seasoned area writers, to bring the quaint New England town and its many hidden gems to a national audience.
“The Ocean House is certainly a quintessential part of what makes Watch Hill so unique with its storied history and passionate supporters; thus, the magazine was aptly named,” said President and Managing Director Daniel Hostettler. “But while the publication carries the name of our resort, it will serve as a resource, providing visitors and locals with valuable information from the incredible coastal towns in Rhode Island and Connecticut. We are so excited to bring news about our corner of the world to travelers everywhere.”
Published by Moffly Custom Media, the magazine features several sections dedicated to the area, including “People + Places,” spotlighting local events; “In the Know,” a reoccurring Q&A with local business owners; as well as a “Local Guide” to Watch Hill and surrounding towns. Another standard feature of the magazine is the “Weddings” section, showcasing note-worthy nuptials held at the resort.
The premier issue covers the Ocean House’s impressive history and what’s in season at the resort’s signature restaurant, Seasons. The issue also outlines the property’s upcoming holiday festivities, including the resort’s 12 Days of Christmas events, featuring daily activities such an Egg Nog recipe competition, Salt Marsh Opera performance and five-course Christmas Eve dinner, as well as information on the resort’s lavish New Year’s Eve celebration.
Ocean House magazine will be published annually and is available to guests, residents and visitors, as well as the Ocean House mailing list. To join the resort’s mailing list and receive a copy of the Ocean House magazine, please send contact details to communications@oceanhouseri.com.
