Last winter we brought the Fondue Express to Ocean House. Opened to coverage from Food & Wine, Departures and Forbes magazines—plus millions of impressions on social media—the luxuriously cozy private dining venue offered a satisfying three-course lunch and dinner menu of Alpine delicacies served alongside vintage selections of Veuve Clicquot champagnes. This year, we’re delighted to expand the concept to include two larger gondolas, each able to host parties of up to six. Paired with the original four-seat Fondue Express, we’ve created Fondue Village!
 
Each vintage ski gondola has been impressively restored, outfitted with warm woods, fine Alpine textiles, chandeliers and imported Swiss and Austrian glassware and china. Add a private server and Swiss chocolates for the road, a lunch or dinner in one of the gondolas of the Fondue Village— surrounding a fire pit and amongst twinkling pines—is an unforgettable experience for a romantic dinner for two or a warm gathering of friends.

The Experience

Guests will arrive on the Ocean House’s North Lawn, borrow a stylish Columbia Grand Trek down jacket, then enter one of our fully restored Vermont Ski Gondolas (either for up to four, or up to six guests) for a private three-course meal. A personal server will oversee your meal to provide you a unique dining experience.

Seatings available December 2, 2019 through March 31, 2020. Limit four (4) or six (6) guests per seating.

December 2019

• LUNCH: Thursday through Sunday: 12 p.m.  
• DINNER: Daily, 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

January to March 2020

• LUNCH: Thursday through Sunday: 12 p.m.  
• DINNER: Wednesday: 5 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.; Friday and Saturday: 6 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.

Each Seating allows the choice of one gondola with a limit of four (4) guests or from two gondolas that can accommodate up to six (6) guests.

Price:

• $400 for up to four (4) people or $600 for up to six (6) people (plus 20% gratuity and tax)
• $560, paired with Veuve Clicquot Champagne for up to four (4) people or $840, paired with Veuve Clicquot Chamapagne, for up to six (6) people (plus 20% gratuity and tax)

A portion of proceeds from Fondue Express will benefit the Ocean House Fund for Charitable Giving. Reservations are required and pre-payment must be made at booking.

If you’re looking for a different setting and another way to appreciate Veuve Clicquot in the warmer months, keep our Secret Garden champagne restaurant in mind for delicious al fresco dining, May through October.
