Croquet

Ocean House’s championship croquet lawn overlooking the Atlantic Ocean offers a beautifully manicured course ideal for traditional croquet games. Our Croquet Lawn is championship quality bent grass greens and has been laser leveled and designed according to regulation standards.

With guidance from our on-site croquet professional, our Croquet Lawn is a magical gathering space for family and friends to participate in this timeless Rhode Island activity that can be enjoyed at every age and skill level. With the sea below you and the gentle ocean breezes to keep you cool, the Ocean House Croquet Lawn is the ideal location to practice or polish your croquet skills.

We ask that guests observe traditional croquet attire of white collared shirts, and white or khaki shorts or long pants and flat soled shoes. Croquet whites are requested but not required.

A Grand Tradition

Hotel and day guests alike can enjoy private croquet lessons from our on-site professional, as well as groups looking for a fun time on the croquet court overlooking the sea.

Rates include instruction, mallets and all other necessary equipment. Players under the age of 8 must be accompanied by an adult.

Private Croquet Lessons

Reserve private court time with the Ocean House Croquet Pro, Matt Smith, to engage in open play, private instruction, or something in between, on our private croquet lawn overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and East Beach. Croquet whites are recommended but not required.

Kid’s Croquet Camp

For children ages eight through twelve, Ocean House’s Croquet Professional will lead each session, beginning with hands-on instruction and practice, followed by a variety of fun croquet games.
